The garden was once voted “Carmel’s best place to kiss”.  This quaint bed and breakfast is tucked away only 2 blocks from Ocean Avenue, the main thoroughfare of Carmel that leads down to Carmel Beach.  We have a lot of repeat guests who are like family;  they choose to stay at Carmel Garden Court Inn every time they visit Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Carmel Garden Court Inn has an extensive list of repeat visitors, and they tell us their favorite things about our inn are that it is pet friendly (woof!) and every room has its own patio and mini-suite.

“I guess you could say I’m a B&B virgin, but I really enjoyed my stay at the Carmel Garden Court Inn. It’s a very cute, cozy B&B within walking distance to all the shops/restaurants in Carmel.  The room we stayed in was very well-maintained, with wood paneling throughout, rustic furniture, a working fireplace, a TV and even a VCR (with a bunch of VHS tapes you could check out at the front desk).

I loved all the little extra touches the Inn provided — port/sherry for us on arrival and a lovely continental breakfast brought up to us in the morning (including warm hard-boiled eggs in little egg cups, which gave breakfast a nice touch).  Some of the rooms have a private patio/garden area as well.

The staff is incredibly friendly and charming and made our weekend stay really memorable and cozy, which I guess is why you would go to a B&B rather than a hotel in Carmel.  … The only other hotel I’ve stayed at in Carmel is the La Playa, which was very nice, but pales in comparison to the Inn’s charm.

“We loved our stay at the Carmel Garden Court Inn. We stayed in the Fuscia Suite. It had a cozy living room with a wood burning fireplace. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. We had fresh fruit and pastries. The staff is fantastic! We told them what kind of food we wanted and they made reservations for us. The staff really try to make your experience relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are warm and inviting. It has all the comforts of home! Will be back…”

“I stayed at the Carmel Garden Court Inn December 30 and 31 with my sister and brother-in-law. We had two patio or garden rooms. The rooms were comfortable and charming. Our patios, complete with outdoor furniture, connected which made it very nice.

The breakfast (hard boiled eggs, croissant, muffin, danish, yogurt with granola and fresh fruit, orange juice) delivered to our rooms every morning was timely and very good. Fires in the wood burning fireplaces were wonderful. …We have already booked the same rooms for new years this year and even added one more night. We’re hoping other family members from Ohio will join us this year. We do not expect to be disappointed.”

I thought our room was lovely. We had a small private courtyard which was wonderful for our dog. I enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evening and reading . The plants, flowers, and fountain were beautiful. … I liked the light breakfast of yogurt, fruit, and a muffin.”

“A nice quiet getaway in Carmel. Some rooms have private patios which are ideal for the very nice morning breakfast the inn provides. The rooms are very large with a sitting area and an eating area though the bathroom is small. The inn accepts pets and the best pet friendly restaurant in town, The Forge in the Forest, is located about 2 blocks away.”
